but then an awful lot of those seeking change & new cultures gravitate to their own countrymen and end up spending most of their time talking with fellow people from US,UK,Canada, Australia or what have you – or a mix and match of the 4 which are after all fairly similar

Wow, this is a lovely quote. I love travelling too. And I would gladly do it for the rest of my life if I had the resources.
