(currently listening to Tame Impala’s ‘Feels like we only go backwards). Thanks so much for sharing!

Im also determined to regain my fluency in French – it has faded over the last 15 years. If you find a convenient learning platform, please share! I found I learned best when I could write letters to those in French speaking countries, and have phone/internet convos even if it was over dumb stuff like “what did you eat today?”

I’m studying how to visit Japan on $30/day. Happy to find that cheap guest houses for $13 a night. And eat at 7-11. Many sights are free. My biggest expense is the train. And with no tipping!
Also studying Bali.
I’ll be buying more of your books. I don’t have a credit card and I need advice on how to get travel points.
Blessings. Kathi Greenberg

I’m planning on a working holiday in Aus next year then heading to China to teach and study mandarin.

I really like your blog it’s been extremely useful in research. I also like your posts about the difficulties of the travel lifestyle regarding friends and family.

I love reading especially Stephen King, my favorite tv shows are Friends, How I met your mother, Being human (uk version) and the limitless tv show, but I also love rick and morty. My favorite movies are the avengers movies and Deadpool ?. My favorite thing to do is play with cute dogs including my families dog that I raised. New York is one of my favorite cities, I lived in NY state for a few months working in a hotel and would go to the city or to montauk every weekend.

Indie 🙂

I feel like you could be my soulmate, not in a romantic way, but in the way that I could see us talk for hours over a scotch and a guinness for me. The best cocktail I’ve ever had would be a whiskey sour, though I hardly ever admit that.

I think self insight and constant learning is the single most important part of a meaningful and fulfilled life. I think the search for becoming better can only do the world good. Not just smarter and more knowledgeable, but more empathic, more giving and more forgiving is what makes a truly intelligent person.

I think travel is one of the most insightful things you can do in life. I couldn’t tell you who the president is in most contries or how the political system works, but I could tell you about the way people live their lives, how their values are shaped in different cultures and where it comes from. I’m deeply interested in the human mind and nature.

I constantly struggle between living the present and planning ahead, with me tending to stay mostly in the present. I try to make sure that the things I do presently brings me to a place where I will be happier and more fulfilled in the future.
I try to better myself, accept myself and challenge myself all the time! It brings me so much joy to see improvement in both my way of thinking and doing.

I’m deeply inspired by a lot of people, including you. I think it’s wonderful to look and understand how other people manage this thing called life.

I’m not always good at getting all the stuff done that I want and need, as I tend to live in my mind a lot. But when I really need to relax and focus, listening to classical music in the background does wonders for me. I don’t even know that much about classical music, but I would like to dedicate time in the future to really listen and explore.
My guilty pleasure of music is anything reggaeton. I can hardly sit still to the bouncy beats, though I don’t appreciate the lyrics too much!
I love dancing.

Keep inspiring all of us.
Best wishes, Emilie from Denmark.

I’d like him to travel with me but he’s busy making lots of money first. I’m 67, now in Malaysia enjoying my fourth year on the road post-retirement and still traveling. You were among those who inspired me to get started. Best wishes to you. Life is good!

I’ve never written into anyone like this before, but I thought you should know how wonderful your writing is. You convey the most important topics with simplicity, humor and tangible sincerity. I love it! You have the gift to inspire others to travel and haven’t wasted a drop of your talent. Thank you for all you do and best of luck in this new chapter~

I also recently moved back home to Michigan where I’m trying to put roots down. It’s so hard! Last night I went to a swing dance event in Ann Arbor and met some of the kindest people. I think making friends is the first step in settling down 🙂

Best, Amanda

It felt odd to read that and discover that we’re very similar.
I also play MTG and love Taylor Swift.
Not a fan of the Old Fashioned though!
Which is almost blasphemous seeing as I’m Irish and whiskey is basically the main component in my family tree.

Keep on keepin’ on!

Lizzie

That’s awesome. I didn’t even know my bat mitzvah could have been themed! I just got a bagel and lox spread brunch. 5 years later my brother got a whale watching after party!
I always use my airplane time to read books related to my destination. The last time I succumbed up a movie on a flight was Paddington on the way to London. I don’t know if it’s because I was tired, but I enjoyed it!
