Everything is expensive except for the transportation which is very cheap. Amazing place, especially Kowloon and I can’t wait to visit again someday. Thanks for sharing 🙂

Lots of interesting shops and lots great restaurants & cafes.

Po Lin Monastery was probably my favorite. I also recommend visiting the Chi Lin Nunnery and the Nan Lian Garden. The landscape of the Nan Lian Garden was amazing. The entrance of the Chi Lin Nunnery was also beautiful.

I hope I will be able to visit other places that was listed in your post. I wrote a post about Guides and Tips for first time travellers to Hong Kong on my blog if anyone’s interested.

I’m considering a trip to Thailand, and then a visit to HK before coming home to the UK. I’m looking at around 4 days in HK (if I can get it planned correctly), would 4 days be enough to see some of the big sights? Like everyone says you’d benefit from more time (even someone in the thread – living there for 2 years and still not seen everything). I don’t want to cut on quality just by trying to squeeze it in!

I would also recommend going to Cheung Chau island for a day to explore beautiful peaceful beaches and have the cheapest seafood In HK.

I would also recommend hiring bikes at Sha Tin and riding to Tai Po along Tolo Harbour. It’s a great ride past the university where you can stop for a coffee or lunch at the many cafes along the waterfront. So much to do in such a little place. Also make sure you get your Octopus Card so you can use our amazing public transport system and do yourself a favour and jump on a tram along Queens Road. Try and get a seat upstairs and enjoy the sights and sounds from our beloved Ding Dings!

If you have time, it’s worth a trip to Sai Kung, or the outlying islands like Lamma Island & Cheung Chau.

I’d also recommend the bus ride to Stanley.

I’m into movies, so Madame Tussaud HK is nice (wax figures/sculptures of Jackie Chan, Jet Li, Andy Lau, etc)
